Homemade Chilli Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken (boneless, cut into small pieces)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1 large bell pepper (capsicum), chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Chop the chicken, onions, bell pepper, and green chilies.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the chicken pieces and cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables:
    • In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
    • Add the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies, and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the Spices and Sauce:
    • Stir in the red chili powder, soy sauce, vinegar, and ketchup. Mix well.
    • Add the chopped bell peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing them to soften slightly while still retaining their crunch.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce:
    • Add the cooked chicken back to the pan. Stir everything together, ensuring the chicken is coated with the sauce.
    • Sprinkle in garam masala, sugar (optional), and salt to taste. Stir and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
